littlebibs has made a comment on Shona Laing Interview Orbitalive:

I agree, its great to see Shona Laing aliveand well on planet earth 2008. As I find myway around all these searches its sad to comeacross another NZ female artist who recentlypassed away, Mahinarangi Tocker this past spring at the age of 52, what a sad loss forNZ. We move through life so fast, time justflies, Shona is very special to many, hermusic is life in all its contratictions, timeless stuff and worth sharing.

Veteran rocker and reality television superstar Ozzy Osbourne is to join American glam metallers Kiss in the two-day Rock2Wgtn music festival in Wellington next Easter.

Iron Maiden renews deal with EMI

Iron Maiden renews deal with EMI

Thu Dec 13, 6:52 AM ET

LONDON (Billboard) - Heavy metal veterans Iron Maiden have signed a wide-ranging international recording pact with long-time label home EMI, which will share in the band's touring, merchandise and sponsorship revenues.

Such integrated deals are becoming more common as struggling labels seek to supplement revenues from dwindling record sales.

The deal excludes the United States, where the band is signed to Sanctuary. Financial details were not disclosed.

Iron Maiden and EMI have a 28-year relationship, during which time the band has sold about 70 million albums, according to the label, and topped the U.K. album charts three times.

The band's 14th and most recent album, "A Matter of Life and Death," opened at No. 1 on Billboard's European Top 100 Albums charts last year.

The group's upcoming "Somewhere Back in Time" world tour is due to kick off February 1 in Mumbai, India. U.S. dates are set for February 9 in Los Angeles and March 14 in New Jersey. It will also play London's Twickenham rugby stadium on July 5.
