The Metal Storm "saga" is not very old. As a mater of fact we only got together in October of 06. It started something like this.....

Deo was in a band with a guy named Grant called Grandeo from Gore. (Coinsidence...? I think not!) They needed a bass player and a drummer. I (Maddog) joined and thats how I meet Deo the Brazillian. That band ran it's course and there was me and Deo wondering what we would do next. Both of us had fond memories and years of experience in metal and talked about the possibilities of starting a metal band. So we started looking, and looking, and looking. One day my daughter said hey we have a friend thats a good bass player named Terrence, you should check him out. We invited him down for a jam and the little sheite was great. He liked what we were doing (which was all covers at the time and said he would join. WooHoo! we got a monster bass player. I tried being the drummer and the singer but between the Judas Priest and Iron Maiden song I was getting no where near the oxygen I needed to do both do we figured that a drummer was in need. We looked for one for about 2 weeks when I got this idea about a former student I had months before. He was a kick ars metal drummer that was just looking for a bit of a different direction in his playing. ( he didnt need lessons ) I asked him one day if he would like to do some metal covers with the potencial of originals later on. He said Fuque N Eh! so bam we had our drummer. We had a few practices and it sounded great. We still needed a second guitarist to make the sound monster, so we looked, and looked, well you get the idea. I had heard this young gun slinger a couple of times, damn he's fast I thought. about the third time I had heard him I asked him, " hey dude we need another guitarist in our metal band would you like to come and have a jam" He said he didn't know any of the stuff we did. I told him it was cool just come along and we'll rock. And we did! I started calling him Speedy cuz I couldn't remember how to say his name. Ngarewa. ( Damn I hope thats right)  Aaaaanyway... we got on quite well and rocked hard together. After 5 Practices we did a Jam night at One Blue Dog. we had 9 songs. I had to read the words to 6 of them. For a first performance we kicked serious ars! We were loud, well we always are. Our second one a couple weeks later at the same place, we rocked even harder. From there went went oh to play at the only venue in Invers for metal and original bands, The Glue Pot. We played there a lot for quite awhile. We did a gig in CHCH after a while that didn't pan out to well. The venue didnt advertise the way they said they would and the crowd was small. The opening band was great, they suited us well. After we got back fromm CHCH we took a bit of a break. after that we started getting back together but our bass player was missing alot. His life had become a little more complicated with work and family so the band had to be put on a back burner. Infact the burner was turned off and and the food thrown away. One warrior down. We started writing some songs, and eventually we got a bass player. Cameron. He's a brilliant guitarist and song writer with the band Osmium. He always wanted to play bass in a band he said so when we offered him the job he jumped on board 3 weeks ago. Now with that void filled we can rock on! except a week later our Beast of a drummer said farewell. His interests have gone elsewere and we would have to find another beast to cage for our thunderous rythm section. But we still Rock on! we are currently writing our first LP and the seach continues for a drummer.                                               WE SHALL SOLDIER ON AND CONTINUE TO MAKE EARS BLEED AND NECKS BANGING!

more later.........                                          Maddog
